Mon, Aug 18, 2008
The 2008 Conservative Leadership Conference (CLC) announced today that Danny Vargas, Chairman of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly, will be a speaker at the conference to be held in Las Vegas next month.
As founder and president of VARCom Solutions, a D.C. area-based marketing and public relations firm, Danny Vargas has made a mark not only in business but in the community and politics as well. In July of 2007 he became chairman of the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce, making him the first Hispanic to chair a mainstream chamber of commerce in the history of Virginia.
In the same month, Mr. Vargas was elected unanimously as the National Chairman of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly, a 34-year old organization with over two dozen state chapters nationwide. The mission of the RNHA is to foster and promote the values of Republicanism within the Hispanic community, play an influential role within the Republican Party and be a source of Hispanic Republican candidates and leaders. As national chairman, he has propelled the organization to greater visibility and prominence as they work to have an impact on the 2008 elections, the Party and the community.
Vargas has appeared on numerous television, radio, print and online media outlets in both English and Spanish, including CNN, Fox News, Hispanic Business, and many more.
Active in politics, Danny has been involved in numerous campaigns at the local, state and national levels and has advised elected officials and Republican Party leaders on a host of issues. His position with the RNHA allows him a unique opportunity to impact the Party moving forward as well as the 2008 presidential campaign.
Danny is a U.S. Air Force veteran who later rose through the ranks in the telecom industry to the executive levels in one of the world’s largest corporations. Raised poor in New York City in a broken home, he struggled and was determined to climb out of poverty and the slums of the inner city. Today he serves on the boards of various non-profit groups and speaks to students at various levels to encourage them to stay in school and work hard to succeed. As the first person in his family to earn a degree, he is proud to give back to his community. He is married with two young sons and is fluent in Spanish.
